Daniel Reza Sabzghabaei selected as Resident Composer for 2025 Mizzou International Composers Festival (MICF)

Daniel was selected from a pool of over 600 applicants to be a Resident Composer for the 2025 Mizzou International Composers Festival. He will be in residence at the University of Missouri from July 20-27, 2025, where he’ll present his work, and collaborate with resident ensemble Alarm Will Sound on the premiere of a new work. Daniel Reza Sabzghabaei selected for GATES Postdoctoral Fellowship at Université Grenoble Alpes’ MaCI

I will be beginning a postdoctoral program at Université Grenoble Alpes’ Maison de la Création et de l’Innovation through their GATES Fellowship program. I will be teaching composition lessons, a seminar on Persian Choral Music, and completing my opera project ▢△◯. More info here:

Daniel Reza Sabzghabaei selected for American Composers Orchestra 2023 EarShot Readings in NYC

Daniel was selected from a pool of nearly 400 applicants to collaborate with the American Composers Orchestra, conductor Tito Muñoz, and mentor composers Derek Bermel, Mary Kouyoumdjian, and Daniel Bernard Roumain on two open-to-the-public events – a working rehearsal on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at 10:30am and a public reading of the works on Friday, June 2, 2023 at 7:30pm at the New School Tishman Auditorium

Daniel Reza Sabzghabaei wins First Music Commission from the New York Youth Symphony

Daniel Reza Sabzghabaei was selected as Grand Prize Winner of the New York Youth Symphony’s First Music Commission in the Chamber category. As part of the commission, Daniel will act as a guest educator and artist for the students of NYYS, culminating in performances of the newly commissioned work in the Spring and Summer of 2023 at Carnegie Hall and the Interlochen Arts Academy.
