From a pool of 278 applicants, Daniel Reza Sabzghabaei was selected as a Composer Fellow for the Susan and Ford Schumann Center for Composition Studies at the Aspen Music Festival & School. As part of the Fellowship, Daniel will be completing three new commissions for Aspen Conducting Academy Orchestra, the Aspen Contemporary Ensemble, and Aspen Opera Theater and VocalARTS program. He will be in residence in Aspen from July 24 – August 23.
As a winner of the VCC Composer Prize, Daniel Reza Sabzghabaei will be writing a new work for viola duo commissioned by acclaimed violist Lawrence Power and Viola Commissioning Circle.
Through their Winning Scores program, the Pacific Chamber Orchestra has commissioned a new chamber orchestra arrangement of my 2022 work Heights for orchestra and wind chime installation. TICKETS

Daniel was selected to attend International Festival of Contemporary Music ‘Warsaw Autumn’ through Ulysses Platform‘s Journeys for Composers program. He will present his music in workshops with Franck Bedrossian and Pierre Jodlowski, while participating in all of the festival’s events Sept 19-27, 2025 in Warsaw. More info here.

Daniel was selected from a pool of over 600 applicants to be a Resident Composer for the 2025 Mizzou International Composers Festival. He will be in residence at the University of Missouri from July 20-27, 2025, where he’ll present his work, and collaborate with resident ensemble Alarm Will Sound on the premiere of a new work.
